Boeing Sees 33% Surge in May Deliveries as 737 MAX Production Hits Post-Strike High
Boeing delivered 60 aircraft in May, marking a 33% year-over-year increase, with 51 of those being 737 MAX jets—the highest monthly tally since production resumed in December 2024 following labor strikes. The company plans to ramp up 737 production from 42 to 47 aircraft per month this summer.
New orders totaled 27, including a notable deal with Lufthansa for 10 787 Dreamliners. After accounting for 16 cancellations, net new orders stood at 11 for the month. Boeing’s backlog remains robust at 6,178 aircraft, though deliveries still trail Airbus’s 81 for May.
